Clancy Hat Trick Rolls
Ironbound Express Past Westchester

Newark Blanks Flames, 5-0

Westchester, N.Y. (Saturday, May 30, 2009) – When they have gotten hot this season, the Newark Ironbound Express (4-3-0) have scored goals by the bunches. Thanks in large part to a first half hat trick by midfielder Kyle Clancy, that was the case today at McKenna Field in Westchester as the Express picked up their fourth win of the season by handing the Westchester Flames (1-2-2) a 5-0 defeat.

The game was knotted with no score this evening until playmaking midfielder Jonathan Bilbao set up former Seton Hall captain Victor Kotynski in the 13th minute, and the New Jersey City University product maintained his unselfish ways by hooking up Clancy for his first notch just two minutes later. Already possessing a 2-0 advantage, Clancy hit a solo strike in the 22nd minute and completed his hat trick five minutes later by sending home a Toric Robinson feed. The fifth and final tally of the match came in the second half came when midfielder Edison Bilbao recorded an unassisted knock in the 65th minute.

Playing very well in net to take the victory for Newark was goalkeeper John Steele, registering seven saves in the contest to take the blank slate.

The Express will look to ride the momentum of this win into a weekend finale against the unbeaten Ocean City Barons (3-0-1) tomorrow evening at Lubetkin Field, with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. Gaining three points today in Westchester will go a long way for Newark, and the Express climbed into a first place tie with the Long Island Rough Riders (4-1-0) by taking the victory.
