Guard Led G-Force with 58 Points over Weekend Split
The International Basketball League (IBL) officially announced that Jersey G-Force guard David Seagers has been named its Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, May 13th. Seagers was the high point man for the G-Force over the weekend, scoring a total of 58 points in two games against the Orlando Venom at Bergen Community College in New Jersey.
A native of the Bronx, Seagers played his college basketball at Dowling College and made an immediate impression once arriving on campus. In just his freshman season, the 6-2 guard led the team with 395 points, 45 steals and 73 assists. He also pulled down 130 rebounds. He continued that run over his last three college seasons as well, again leading Dowling in scoring and receiving All-Conference and Division II First Team All-America accolades.
Playing in its inaugural season, Seagers is the first G-Force player to earn Player of the Week accolades. The team is currently 2-2 in its first four games of competition and will play its final two contests this weekend in Orlando, completing a six-game branding season in the IBL.
