Resolution Sports to Continue Communications Management for Sky Blue FC
Resolution Sports formally announced today that the company has renewed its ongoing partnership with Sky Blue FC, which is preparing for its first season of play in the newly founded National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). 2013 will mark the third campaign together for the two organizations, with Resolution Sports continuing to handle the communications and social media management for Sky Blue FC.
“I am happy that we are continuing our partnership with Resolution Sports, which has provided us with great services in past seasons,” said Thomas Hofstetter, President/CEO of Sky Blue FC.
Sky Blue FC will be one of eight teams to launch the NWSL in the spring of 2013, joining the Boston Breakers, Chicago Red Stars, FC Kansas City, Portland Thorns FC, Washington Spirit, Western New York Flash and Seattle Reign FC. Sky Blue FC previously played in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) during its three seasons of operation from 2009-2011, capturing the inaugural league championship in 2009. Prior to the establishment of WPS, Sky Blue FC played two years in the USL W-League as Jersey Sky Blue.
With U.S. Soccer, the Canadian Soccer Association and the Federation of Mexican Football on board with the NWSL, Hofstetter is very enthusiastic about where the future of professional women’s soccer is headed.
“We are excited to be involved in the new league, and this new chapter of women’s soccer,” he stated. “With the backing of U.S. Soccer, the Canadian Soccer Association, and the Federation of Mexican Football, as well as the support of the other clubs, we are confident the NWSL will be a success. Our commitment to the women’s game has remained constant, and we continue to be dedicated to building a quality professional women’s soccer league.”
An obviously exciting time for the game of women’s soccer, Resolution Sports President/CEO John Archibald voiced a great deal of enthusiasm and gratitude with having his sports communication firm continuing its relationship with Sky Blue FC.
“Speaking on behalf of Resolution Sports, I am very elated and appreciative towards Thomas Hofstetter and the entire Sky Blue FC organization for the opportunity to proceed in the development of our partnership,” he remarked. “We originally began our relationship in 2008, and Sky Blue FC has played an integral role in the evolvement of Resolution Sports. We have literally traveled the globe together while growing the Sky Blue FC brand and the sport of women’s soccer, and I look forward to what the future holds as we continue the pursuit of success on both national and international fronts for the game.”
In terms of global development, Sky Blue FC traveled to Turkey in 2011 and then to Japan in March of 2012 to compete in international soccer matches, with Resolution Sports and the team working together to produce a daily video documentary of both trips.
