Planet90 Soccer Announces
Indoor Soccer Tournament

Tournament Being Done in Collaboration with MaryHelp of Christians Academy

Bloomfield, N.J. (Monday, September 14, 2009) – Planet90 Soccer formally announced today that they will be presenting an indoor soccer tournament in partnership with MaryHelp of Christians Academy on Saturday, October 17th. The six-team tournament will occur at the indoor facilities at MaryHelp of Christians Academy, and Planet90 Soccer is currently accepting applications to play in the tournament.

"The Planet90 Soccer/MaryHelp of Christians Academy Middle School Indoor Tournament is something special to me,” Planet90 President and MaryHelp of Christians Academy High School head coach Oral Bullen commented. “When Planet90 Soccer was launched, one of my immediate goals was to reach the children through this great game of soccer. With the Middle School Tournament, we at Planet90 Soccer feel we are getting closer to reaching that goal.”

In addition to some competitive soccer, Bullen also pinpointed another aspect that the indoor tournament looks to achieve.

“The Middle School Tournament will be more than just a tournament, as it will exemplify team unity, great sportsmanship and a chance for kids to interact with other kids from different schools,” he said. “In life these are some great tools. If Planet90 Soccer can share these life tools with kids using a soccer tournament, then Planet90 Soccer has again done its job."

The tournament will run on October 17th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Teams are restricted to girls only, and each team will play at least three games. The top four teams from the first round will advance to a knock out stage pitting first overall versus fourth, and the second seeded club will play the third ranked squad. The winner of those two contests will then play in the final.

"As I said before, MaryHelp has a tremendous academic program at the middle school and high school level, and I am working to bring that same positive energy to the athletic program,” Bullen continued. “My girls’ varsity team has gotten off to a great start. I always tell them to never say you can’t do something unless you try it. With that attitude, they are doing things that before they told me ‘Coach, I can’t do that.’ This example is what Planet90 Soccer is all about. We try to teach those life lessons by using the game of soccer, and I hope we can continue this run at the Planet90 Soccer/MaryHelp Middle School Indoor Soccer Tournament."

Each contest of the tournament will be 25 minutes with each half consisting of 12:30. The roster of each team is restricted to 20 players, and matches will be played six-on-six with five field players and a goalkeeper a side. First and second place winners will receive trophies or medals, and all participants will receive a certificate of participation. The championship team will also be featured on the Planet90 Soccer website at www.planet90soccer.com.

Registration for the tournament is $155 per team, and information regarding payment and the tournament can be acquired by emailing Bullen at obullen@planet90soccer.com.
