Professional Indoor Football Team to Kick Off in March at Sun National Bank Center
Trenton, N.J. (Thursday, December 10, 2009) – The New Jersey Kings are bringing professional indoor football to the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton (formerly the Sovereign Bank Arena), and the team is looking for talented players in the area who would be interested in joining them for their upcoming inaugural season. This Sunday, December 13th, the Kings will be hosting an open tryout at the Bob Smith Soccer Academy in Robbinsville, with sign-ins starting promptly at 9:00 a.m.
“We are looking for local players who have the talent and ability to make the jump to the professional level,” Kings owner Kelly Lockwood commented. “We would love nothing more than to have some home-based talent to help guide us in our mission of winning a league title.”
The Bob Smith Soccer Academy is located at 153 West Manor Way in Robbinsville, and the surface at the facility is sports turf. Players who intend to try out should dress in gym attire and bring both shoes and cleats (no screw-ins), and all participants must be prepared to engage in each activity that is conducted by the staff of the Kings. These open tryouts will be run by Kings head coach Kelly Logan, with the combine being conducted in a pro-style format that will feature basic drills to determine the agility, speed and skill set of each athlete in attendance. Cost for the combine is $55 (cash only), and anyone that has additional questions regarding the combine should contact Coach Logan directly at 609-458-3665.
As stated earlier, the New Jersey Kings will play their inaugural campaign in 2010, and the team will host its home contests at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton. Further league announcements will be made in the near future, and the schedule will tentatively kick off in March and conclude with a championship in July. Kings season tickets for kids start as low as $50.50, and adult packages begin at the low price of $105.
