KiXX Forward Receives Accolade for Second Month in a Row
Philadelphia (Friday, March 26, 2010) – Philadelphia KiXX forward Adauto Neto made a huge impact in his first season of playing in the City of Brotherly Love, and his standout play has consistently been recognized by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). The league announced today its final Player of the Month winners for the regular season, with Neto receiving Offensive Player of the Month accolades for the second consecutive month.
“I’m glad to see Neto receive recognition for his contributions to our team,” KiXX head coach Don D’Ambra stated. “He is a special talent and has consistently put up numbers for us this year."
Neto finished the season maintaining the high level of play that he displayed throughout the entire year. For the month of March, he tallied 19 points while having to play seven games in 23 days, recording three goals and averaging nearly two assists a game with 13 helpers. Neto finished the MISL season as the league leader in both points (65) and assists (28 – 11 more than the closest player). He also finished the year with an incredible feat of scoring at least a point in 19 straight games.
Neto headed to Philadelphia this year after spending the prior season with the New Jersey Ironmen. He finished third in the XSL with 46 points on a well-balanced 15 goals and 16 assists and was named to the All-League Team. The offensive juggernaut played his first two professional indoor seasons with the Cleveland Force before joining the Baltimore Blast for three years in 2005. Following an MISL Championship with the Blast in 2005-06, Neto was named the MISL Most Valuable Player.
While the indoor soccer season commences during the summer, Neto will be playing outdoors in the North American Soccer League for Crystal Palace Baltimore.
