KiXX Finish Season with Pair of All-League Nods
Philadelphia (Monday, April 5, 2010) – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) named its All-MISL Teams today, and the Philadelphia KiXX had a pair of players named to the All-League First Team. Forward Adauto Neto and defender Pat Morris took the honors for the KiXX, following a season that saw both veterans add another stellar campaign to their professional resumes.
"I am happy that Pat and Neto have been acknowledged for their contributions this season,” KiXX head coach Don D’Ambra stated. “They both produced good offensive numbers and made some big plays throughout the season."
Neto finished the MISL season as the league leader in both points (65) and assists (28 – 11 more than the closest player). His 17 two-point goals were also a league high, and the veteran striker completed the year with an incredible feat of scoring at least a point in 19 straight games. Neto, who was the winner of the league MVP award in 2006, was also selected as the MISL Offensive Player of the Month for both February and March.
Long-time KiXX defender Pat Morris ended the year tied for the league lead with 20 goals, and his 47 points in 19 games ranked him fourth among the MISL. The Philadelphia native also added three assists to his stat sheet, and his 36 blocks were tied for the highest mark in the league. This All-League selection for Morris is his eighth nod in nine seasons. Morris was also selected as the MISL Defensive Player of the Month in both January and February.
Joining Neto and Morris on the All-MISL First Team are forwards Machel Millwood (Baltimore Blast) and Carlos Farias (Monterrey La RaZa), defender Genoni Martinez (Monterrey La RaZa) and goalkeeper Nick Vorberg (Milwaukee Wave). The All-MISL Second Team features Baltimore Blast goalkeeper Sagu, Milwaukee Wave defenders Josh Rife and Troy Dusosky, Blast forward Lucio Gonzaga and Wave forwards Giuliano Oliviero and Marco Terminesi.
