Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) officially announced today that defender Caitlin Foord and forward Sam Kerr will be returning to the Australian W-League during the NWSL offseason, playing for Perth Glory on loan.
Foord and Kerr, both members of the Australian Women’s National Team, played with Perth Glory last year and helped guide the club to a championship match appearance. This past NWSL season, the duo joined Sky Blue FC after the Matildas concluded participation in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. In nine games, Kerr equaled a team-best six goals and added two assists to her stat sheet, while Foord started 10 matches and helped anchor the Sky Blue FC back line.
The Australian W-League will kick off this weekend and then conclude in January. Both Foord and Kerr will be available upon the start of the 2016 NWSL preseason.
