Partnership to Focus on Philadelphia Force, ACME’s Local Market UWLX Club
The United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) officially announced today that it has formed a partnership with ACME Markets. The relationship will focus most intently on the Philadelphia Force, a UWLX member club in the immediate vicinity of their corporate offices.
"The UWLX and especially Philadelphia Force are pleased to have a sponsor with a strong presence in the Philly area,” said Aronda Kirby, UWLX co-founder and COO. “We understand the key to building a successful and lasting brand begins with giving community partners like ACME Markets!"
ACME Markets was established in 1891 when Samuel Robinson and Robert Crawford opened a small neighborhood grocery store in South Philadelphia. 125 years later, ACME now operates 178 stores and can be found in six different states in the Northeast, employing nearly 20,000 associates. The company also takes a very proactive stance in philanthropic causes and plays a critical role in the local development of their surrounding communities.
“ACME Markets is excited to be an inaugural partner of the United Women’s Lacrosse League focusing on the Philadelphia Force, our hometown team,” said BJ Zellers, President of Activation Sports Marketing. “At ACME we recognize the growth of lacrosse and that many of our customers are enthusiasts of the game. We are pleased to support the lacrosse community and play a small role in advancing opportunities for women beyond the college game.”
Philadelphia Force General Manager Caitlin Jackson also voiced her enthusiasm regarding the partnership.
“The Philadelphia Force is excited to team up with ACME in our joint effort to promote Women's Professional Sports and opportunities for Women in athletics,” she added.
