UWLX Announces Live Star Entertainment as Production Partner

Live Star Entertainment to Produce Game Broadcasts and Additional Video Projects

Ahead of its inaugural season kickoff this weekend, the United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) officially announced today that it has named Live Star Entertainment as its production partner. The Emmy Award winning firm will handle UWLX game broadcasts, as well as produce additional video projects for the league.

“This partnership with Live Star Entertainment is so appealing because both of our missions align,” said Digit Murphy, UWLX co-founder and CEO. “Both of our groups have an affinity for telling the story, and we both value women within the sports landscape. Both Eric and Fred have daughters, and they really understand our Title IX 2.0 stance in the professional space. They are not only invested in the success of lacrosse, but also in the promotion of the women who play it. We are looking forward to a longstanding relationship with Live Star Entertainment.”

Live Star Entertainment is a full-service events and media production company that specializes in live television. Founded in 1999 by Eric Drath and now joined by his partner Fred Cambria, the firm has many awards to its credit and has produced major projects for HBO, ESPN, Time Warner, Marvel Comics and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, among many others.

“At Live Star Entertainment, we believe in great storytelling, and the United Women’s Lacrosse League presents a tremendous opportunity for storytelling in this space,” said Eric Drath, President of Live Star Entertainment. “We truly believe in what the UWLX is doing, and we are so grateful to be able to bring professional, high-quality support to this league. With both of the principals in our company having daughters, we aspire to empower women and help them bring their talents to the forefront. This is a partnership that we value, and we look forward to providing high-quality content to the widest possible audience out there.”

The UWLX is currently in discussions with espnW to distribute broadcasts of its matches, with Live Star Entertainment handling the game production. Stay tuned for additional details as those conversations progress.
