The United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) is heading into the final weekend of its inaugural 2016 regular season, with a pair of doubleheaders on tap for Friday and Saturday. The UWLX action will take place at Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, Va., in coordination with the IWLCA STX Capital Cup that is occurring this weekend in the surrounding Richmond area.
UWLX play begins this weekend on Friday afternoon, with the Baltimore Ride and Boston Storm first playing at Clover Hill High School at 2:00 p.m. Next up on the slate will be a 4:00 p.m. match between the Long Island Sound and Philadelphia Force.
The 2016 UWLX regular season will then conclude on Saturday afternoon, as the Boston Storm and Philadelphia Force meet for a 2:00 p.m. opening draw. The final game of the regular season follows that contest at 4:00 p.m. when the Baltimore Ride and Long Island Sound take the field.
Following this weekend’s matches, the UWLX will host its inaugural Championship Weekend on July 30-31st at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., to crown its first-ever league champion.
Traffic Alert: Genito Road, a main road between River City and Clover Hill, will only have one lane open on Thursday and Friday. A flagger will be on site, but traffic delays are expected. Both lanes will then be open the rest of the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
