U.S. Lacrosse has officially named the 36 players who will be part of the 2017 U.S. Women’s National Team, with 21 of those players having played in the 2016 inaugural season of the United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX).
The 36 players who were selected will train in preparation of the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s World Cup, which will be held next July in Guildford, England. Over the following year, the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse roster will be trimmed down to 18 players who will complete in the international tournament. In the competition, U.S. Women’s Lacrosse seeks its third consecutive and eighth overall World Cup championship.
