Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that forward Tasha Kai underwent successful surgery on her left ankle earlier this morning.
Kai, who scored her fourth goal of the year last night in Sky Blue FC’s 2016 season finale, had the arthroscopic procedure to clean up her ankle after suffering a few nagging injuries over the course of the season. There is currently no timetable set for her recovery.
Kai signed with Sky Blue FC over the 2016 offseason after being away from the game for five years. During the 2016 NWSL season, the Hawaii native was responsible for the first and final goal that Sky Blue FC scored during its 2016 campaign. On the season, she recorded four goals and one assist, making 17 starts and not missing a single match.
