ORSO LLC Comes on Board as Managing Partners
GK1 Sports officially announced on Tuesday that the company is re-launching after a recent purchase by ORSO LLC, which will serve as the operating group for the sports attire and equipment distributor. Joining internationally renowned goalkeeper Tony Meola as managing partner for GK1 Sports will be former accessories designer Etta Kelly, with growth and expansion into all sports platforms being among the upcoming plans for the company.
"The main goal of GK1 Sports has always been to bring high-quality products to athletes at prices they can truly afford," Meola stated. "We have so many great products already under development, and I could not be any happier to be part of a real growth story. Look for the first of many exciting developments to come in the very near future."
GK1 Sports was originally established as GK1 Soccer in 2008. The concept of the company can actually date back to the childhood home of Meola, who used to sketch designs of goalkeeper jerseys in between playing games for Thistle Soccer Club in Kearny, New Jersey. The three-time World Cup netminder continued to sketch designs of potential jerseys throughout a career that traveled through Kearny High School and the University of Virginia, eventually leading to 100 caps for the United States National Team and an illustrious 11-year career in Major League Soccer (MLS).
With the re-launch, GK1 Sports will initially build its foundation within the game of soccer, but the company will branch out into a wide variety of sports.
"Once we firmly establish ourselves in the soccer world, expect GK1 Sports to make a strong impression within the sports industry as a whole," said Enrico Lamberti, VP of Business Development for GK1 Sports. "This company has limitless potential in terms of growth, and we are looking forward to what the future holds for us."
The newly established product line for GK1 Sports will take its existing soccer goods and expand into other categories that are universal to sports, including Compression Wear, Performance Wear, Sports Apparel, in addition to an Off the Pitch line and complete assortment of custom uniforms for multiple sports.
"We will be bringing many new and exciting products into the marketplace," Kelly remarked. "My professional background in fashion design combined with my passion for sports is sure to ignite the growth of our company. Exciting days are ahead for GK1 Sports!"
GK1 Sports has also launched its new website, which will contain all of the latest information regarding products, as well as exclusive content and unique features. A complete catalog of company products is already available for online viewing, and it can be accessed now by visiting www.GK1Sports.com.
