Commercial to Air This Season on Fox Soccer Channel

West Windsor, N.J. (Monday, April 27, 2009) – The New Jersey Wildcats will be in front of a worldwide audience this season, thanks to a commercial being produced by Sprinturf. Scheduled to air all season long on Fox Soccer Channel, the commercial was shot in Philadelphia over two days and features the 14th year Wildcats as a focal point of the advertisement.

“It’s nice to be received as a strong endorser for a brand as renown as Sprinturf,” Wildcats Vice President Jim Gooley remarked. “It shows that both the Wildcats and the W-League have significant marketing value on the national level.”

The filming for the Sprinturf commercial began on Friday, April 17th, when the Wildcats edged the La Salle University Explorers in an exhibition match, 1-0, and the cameras were back out the next morning to film a series of takes for the final airing. Once finalized, the commercial will be broadcasted on Fox Soccer Channel all season long, and the Wildcats are also taking the raw footage to create a “Making of” video as well.

”It has been a pleasure to work with the women of the Wildcats team,” Stanley H. Greene, Sprinturf President and CEO, commented. “With many of them having played on Sprinturf at LaSalle, NJIT, Kean University, Drexel and other local venues, it seemed like a natural fit to ask their participation for the commercial. It was important to us to use real athletes with real experience on our product during this production.”

Wildcats playmaker Aleka Yiantsos also shared some words regarding Sprinturf.

“The Sprinturf field feels so much like natural grass underfoot,” she stated. “It’s fast, yet has enough give to provide a truer ball bounce and roll than you get with some of the other turf fields we play on.”

Based locally in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Sprinturf is a leading U.S. provider of synthetic turf with over 500 installations nationwide. Sprinturf is dedicated to delivering high-performance athletic surfaces that provide a safe playing environment for all athletes at every level of competition. The principals in their design system have been under development for nearly 40 years, and Sprinturf continually upgrades their production methods with safety and quality as the center of their focus.

The Wildcats are currently finalizing preparations for their 14th season of play, which is slated to kick off next month. After opening the 2009 season with four consecutive road contests, the Wildcats will make their home debut at Mercer County Community College on Sunday, June 7th, when they host the Boston Renegades at 4:00 p.m. Tickets for that opener are available now by calling 732-963-9769.
